Welcome to the 14th Annual Newtown Turkey Trot to benefit the C. H. Booth Library. Our event offers the opportunity to kick off your Thanksgiving Day celebrations by participating in a 5K run / walk or 2.5K (1.6 mile) fitness walk. This community event has annually attracted over 1200 participants in recent years and will start and finish from Newtown Middle School (11 Queen Street, Newtown) following the routes introduced in 2019.
No dogs or other animals are permitted to participate in this event in the interest of for both racer and pet safety.
The Newtown Turkey Trot provides essential funds to maintain the library and provide programming initiatives. Funds raised from your participation will support the C.H. Booth Library’s mission to promote the joy of lifelong learning, stimulate curiosity, support the exchange of ideas, and provide a welcoming gathering place.
The Turkey Trot has grown over the years to become a popular holiday tradition for our community. It presents an opportunity for family and friends to share a common experience while supporting a vital community resource. Your support and involvement with this year’s event sends a message that the library matters to our community.
Both the 5K and Walk start and end at Newtown Middle School. The 5K route follows a USTF certified route (CT19019JHP), while the walk uses a shorter segment of the same route.
