The Newtown 5K Turkey Trot Road Race and Fun Walk is an annual benefit for the C.H. Booth Library. Held in the scenic and historic center of Newtown, Connecticut. The Turkey Trot has become a community tradition and highlight for many families over the Thanksgiving weekend. The course works its way out of town on the Boulevard and loops back past the fire house and shops before circling around Wendover Road and back to the middle school. The result is a course that is mostly flat with a few gentle hills while it loops through local neighborhoods in the center of town. Additionally, the course starts and ends at Newtown Middle School, providing a single point for spectators to support the runners. Walkers will be provided a similar, shorter course that will also begin and end at the same location.
